Back at Cabrini

Well here I am back at Cabrini and the day has almost come to an end.  I will leave here most probably tomorrow morning around about 10am.

So far it has gone fairly smoothly.  I hope it isn't like last time I had chemo where the worst effects happened after I left the hospital.

Unfortunately I have not had my own room  this time.   I don't know how loud I am typing but as I type I hear my room mate tossing and turning.  It is 11:06pm and her lights are off.  I'll try to type quietly if I can manage.

I had a port inserted into a vein in my chest this morning.  The vein goes straight into my heart instead of an insertion into my arm.  I have very small and weak veins which make in needles very difficult to insert and there is a danger that they can cause damage to the vein.

I can't remember if I mentioned it but I have registered my own domain name - anitalive.  I wanted it to be just anita but that was already taken so I have taken this one from a list of suggested names.   You will notice now that when you go to my blog you will be redirected.  You can if you want go straight to it by linking to blog.anitalive.com

Also I mentioned before that I was thinking of setting up a new blog.  Well I did.  It is very much a work in progress in both the setting up of, the design of the sight, the type of sight and the ideas or topics that I want to discuss on it.  So far I have named it It' a Weird World.  I will place a link to it on this blog later tonight.. perhaps when I put up a post their as well.   I probably will rename it as my blog takes shape.

Now I have cunningly sent you all out an email to tell you about my new url.  I will check with my analysis tool if you will link to my blog following the email.  Boy this is fun.  Do you think I might have tooo much time on my hands?  :-)

Update:
Can you please let me know if you are having problems posting comments to my blog.  Email me and tell me what you did and what message you got.  I'd like to fix it if there is a problem and not because I'm having debugging withdrawals.   A couple of people have told me they can't comment and I'm wondering due to the lack of comments if there is a serious problem there.

To post a comment, choose the post you want to comment and and click on the comments link at the bottom of the post.  Then on the right hand side in the Leave your comment box follow the steps from my Tips for adding a comment post.

Hi Anita,

Good luck with the second chemo!

Well it looks like posting comments is working fine from NZ but I cant speak for the rest of the world.

About the loud typing. Maybe you should stay away from Macs:-) PC based notebooks are better:-)

So are you going to use asp.net for your new site. Anyway incase you want to use asp.net below is a great site with video tutorials and other resources.

It has some beginner stuff as well if you are interested so you can just search for Videos for ASP.NET 2.0 Beginners, i.e. if you want to start there.

http://www.asp.net/learn/videos/default.aspx?tabid=63

Anyway, all the best.

Thanks all for the kind words.

Jude: Choochie is doing OK too. We give him insulin injections twice a day for his diabetes and he doesn't complain at all. Looking forward to seeing you in August.

Tino: Yes I have one comment coming in from Sydney, yours form NZ and one from Melbourne so will have to work out what else is causing it.

Actually I have a Dell laptop and a Macbook. My Dell is faulty at the moment and I need to get it fixed but I find the Mac much nicer for home use.

I have 2 new sites. I use ready made blog apps for it. For this one I am using blogger and my other one, I am using wordpress. both are easy to set up, blogger is more intuitive but wordpress seems to have more features. But you can add more features with plugins. Much faster than writing the apps from scratch with asp.net or something else. I would have enjoyed doing it none the less but this allows me to concentrate on blogging and not re-inventing the wheel.

I'll check out the asp.net site you recommended anyway because I would like to do some other stuff with it so thanks for that.

Danny: I know. You sent me an email about doing lunch with him sat. arvo. Didn't you receive my email in reply?

Hi Anita,
Thanks for the blog updates.
You have not posted for a few days so I figure your mac has crashed as well - even though that is supposed to be something that macs don't do - or you are not feeling too crash hot after your 2nd round.
Here's hoping it does get easier.
Lots of love from sunny QLD

Hi Everyone,
Thanks for your comments. I will start to blog again. I haven't had a very good last few days with nausea and pain from the port insertion and then the electricity went in my house just to top it off. We stayed with my parents for a couple of days and now we have a temporary generator serving the appartment block so meanwhile everything is back to normal and I'm feeling a bit better.

Naomi: Yes I'd love to do coffee when you get back
Trev: Wow, how many years since I haven't heard from you?
